Tuesday, December, 8th is Gender Day at #COP21. It's the second week of COP. Although negotiations towards the expected legally-binding "Paris Treaty" began five years ago in Durban in 2011, 'gender equality' is still not included in the operative section in the new climate agreement. The Women's Global Call for Climate Justice needs your help to demand gender equality in the UNFCCC climate negotiations.

We'll be taking action for #womenclimatejustice inside and outside of the negotiations on Gender Day. Join us IRL or online to take action for the climate. Here's how:

+ 9:00 – 10:00 am, Women's Caucus, Hall 4, Observer Room 9 – A daily meeting of delegates advancing gender rights in the UNFCCC. Learn more about the crucial elements of including gender rights in the agreement text and use the prep time to write a demand for world leaders to take action for #GenderCOP21 #womenclimatejustice.

+10:15 – 10:45 am, Stand for Gender Equality, Red Eiffel Tower at the end of "Champs Elysees" Pathway – Singing with choreography, individual testimonies from women climate leaders, multilingual signs with our demands, and an invitation to delegates to stand for #genderequality. Wear purple and green. +11:00 – 13:00, Women Gender Equality, and Climate Change, India Pavilion, Le Bourget – A side event showcasing women and gender issues with regard to agriculture, disaster risk reduction and energy in India. Talks and presentations focusing on women's work with climate-sensitive natural resources, the impacts of climate change and of adaptive agriculture on women as well as gender in India's climate policies. Inaugural Remarks by Honorable Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Mr. Prakash Javdekar, and additional speakers. +11:30 – 13:00, Gender Just Climate Solutions, Hall 4, Observer Room 1 – Presentations from women and men around the world on their practical solutions for climate change; the launch of a new publication highlighting more than 30 transformative solutions for climate action; speakers will discuss the principles and policies needed to ensure that solutions advance rights, equality and environmental integrity.

+16:45, From Global Commitments to Local Action: National Approaches to Mitigating Climate Change and Advancing Gender Equality, Observer Room 1 The Government of Liberia, in collaboration with the Government of Finland, Peru and Mozambique, IUCN, ENERGIA and WOCAN are hosting the event.
