Climate change is a women’s rights issue. Climate change will disproportionately affect women in a number of ways:

- increased violence against women after natural disasters;

- reproductive and maternal health impacts including lack of access to services during natural disasters;

- women are more likely to go hungry due to increased food insecurity;

- women are in the majority of paid and unpaid caring roles and will take on the heath impacts of climate change.

It is clear that women and feminist solutions need to be at the forefront of climate action.
