Happy International Women's Day!
We want to take a moment today to thank everyone - individuals, organizations, partners - who have joined the call and endorsed the campaign! Women and girls from across the world have been advocating, finding solutions, and fighting for climate justice, women's rights, and gender equality. From climate justice marches in Cameroon and educational workshops in Brazil to national mobilizations in the Philippines and press conferences in Guatemala, we are inspired today and every day by the work taking place in grassroots and frontline communities. Check out pictures from #womenclimatejustice actions here.
Please also take a moment to participate in a very important Call to Action honoring Berta Caceres, human rights and environmental defender, who was assassinated in her home in La Esperanza, Honduras on March 2nd. Every email, call, mention in social networks is important to ensure justice for Berta Caceres and safety for Gustavo Castro Soto, the only witness to Berta's murder. Please help support a thorough investigation as well as support for the legitimate struggles of the Council of Indigenous Peoples of Honduras (COPIHN). Sign the petition here.
